Month 2: Walking for affordable therapy

For our April Challenge for Change, Mandy our Multi-Therapy Assistant is taking on a walking challenge, walking for affordable therapy. Mandy had the great idea of linking up many of the boroughs we provide support to through a walking challenge.

She’ll be linking our communities together on a walk along the south side of the River Thames, from Bexley to Wandsworth, passing through Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth, taking in the beautiful sights and famous London landmarks along the way.

When? Where? Can we join?

YES !!! It’s happening on Saturday 26th April starting at 8.30 am at Crossness Pumping Station in Abbey Wood, aiming to finish around 4.30/5pm at Battersea Power Station. That’s roughly 14 miles, taking around 7-8 hours.

Lots of the Therapy Links UK team will be there to help and cheer her on - and if any of you would like to support her please let us know either by donating to our GoFundMe here https://gofund.me/d078a3ad or through our ‘donate now’ button on our website, or through joining us on the walk. You can join us for a short stroll, a small section, or the full walk, it is up to you! The weather is looking good, the water and snacks are packed and Mandy is ready to go!

Her route and approximate timings are:

8.30am Crossness Pumping Station, Abbey Wood

10am Woolwich Ferry

11am Thames Barrier

12pm The O2 Arena

1pm Greenwich

2pm Brunel Museum Rotherhithe

3pm Tower Bridge

3.30 London Eye

4.30/5 Battersea Power Station

8 hours of walking, 14 miles of London landmarks, lovely company and all for a great cause! We’ll update you after the walk to let you know how Mandy got on.
