Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Gemma is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who trained in London. Gemma has also completed a wide range of post graduate training, including a dysphagia qualification in 2014 (supporting people with swallowing difficulties), PECS training, Intensive Interaction training, Smile Therapy and Attention Autism. 

Gemma specialises in the assessment and management of children and young people with complex communication and feeding difficulties and has supported the communication and feeding needs of young people aged 0-19 in a range of community and educational settings, including: 

  • Primary and secondary special needs schools 

  • Pre-school language unit 

  • Community services for pre-school children 

  • Mainstream nurseries 

  • Families' homes 

Gemma is passionate about supporting young people to realise their potential and be able to access opportunities in their community and beyond. Gemma also understands the importance of working collaboratively with families and other professionals to make this happen for the young people she works with.
